Our hair studio is in the heart of Elmhurst – just across from the York Theater. e-clips is one of many studios at this location offering spa services. After living in Elmhurst for more than 25 years and working in Oak Brook area salons, we have opened a business here. Michael specializes in colors and highlights, [he loves a challenge] and I design the cuts and styles. In this relaxing atmosphere, you won’t be one of many...you will receive very personal attention in our own private studio.
We love Elmhurst, and we’re so happy to have one of “those stores" that when you walk down the street, after dinner or a movie, you can take a peek in our window and see us! I love waving at my daughter and her friends when they go into the theater or seeing my own friends walk by. We hope you stop by, too!
ELMHURST MODEL RAILROAD CLUB OF ELMHURST
It is with great pride that the Elmhurst Model Railroad Club of Elmhurst, Illinois announces their 40th anniversary this year, 2009. To mark this occasion, members of the club have decided to hold a marathon operating session beginning at the start of our regular weekly open house on Friday April 17th at 7 pm. We will remain open and in continuous operation until what would be the closing time of our other regular weekly open house on Sunday April 19th at 5 pm. The club will remain open to the general public for this entire timeframe and everyone is invited to stop and visit as we celebrate our club’s 40 years of model railroading.
Started in April 1969 and now in its third incarnation, our club boasts over nine scale miles of HO scale model railroad in operation. A drive-in movie theater, a roundhouse and turntable, passenger stations, freight yards, a steel mill and other small industries and businesses are displayed throughout our layout. A list of “special” items to search for is also available when you visit. Cameras and videocameras as well as families and children are always welcome.
Our club is located at 111 East 1st Street in Elmhurst. Signs will be posted and the front door will remain open. Skin is the largest organ of the body, yet most people neglect it until a problem arises. Skin care does not need to be difficult or take a long amount of time, but it needs to be effective and contain ingredients which nurture and support health and healing.
Steps to Effective Skin Care
1. Cleanse: The skin needs to be cleansed daily. We accumulate pollutants from the environment around us that can lead to the breakdown of our skin and cause loss of elasticity, breakouts and irritation. Choose a cleanser that leaves the skin refreshed, and not dry and tight.
2. Treat: Like the other organs of our body the skin needs to be fed. Serums are a fantastic way to infuse the skin with vitamins, antioxidants and other treatments. Choose a serum that absorbs quickly and is high in active ingredients (i.e. antioxidants, AHA’s, retinols). If you look at the ingredient deck and the active ingredients are among the last on the list, chances are the product will not be effective!
3. Protect: Sunscreen is the most important product for the health of your skin. 90% of the signs of visible aging (sun spots, broken, capillaries, loss of elasticity) are caused by the sun. Use an spf 30 every day and choose one with titanium or zinc over chemical screens to lessen the chance of irritation.

YORK THEATRE
Built in 1924 the York Theatre in downtown Elmhurst is Classic Cinemas second oldest theatre and was designed by noted theatre architect Elmer Behms with a Spanish motif. After extensive remodeling and additions by the Johnson family it now offers 9 screens of 1st run movie entertainment with the latest in sound and screen technology. The theatre now features digital sound, stadium seating and just recently installed Digital 3-D. This new digitally projected 3-D technology will offer patrons an opportunity to see all the latest 3-D film releases but also with it’s provide such special presentations such as concerts, operas and other unique programming.
The York Theatre also features two party rooms so that you can celebrate your next birthday or special occasion at the movies. Party packages and reservations can be arranged with our theatre manager.
